I’m Kyla Dames, the students know me as Ms. Kyla, and I am excited to join Carpenter this year as School Social Worker. I will be at Carpenter 3 days a week this year. This will be my 4th school year as a School Social Worker. I have School Social Work experience at the elementary level here in AAPS and our neighbor district, YCS.

I received my BSW at Western Michigan University and completed my internship supporting High School Students in a rural setting. I received my MSW from Wayne State University with a concentration in School Social Work and Family Systems, and completed my internship here in AAPS. 

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting, reading, riding my bike, and spending time in nature.
